I am David Mora, an investigative reporter and documentary news producer from Colombia, currently living in New York via Mexico City. I report and produce short, mid-length documentaries, features and breaking news stories, both domestic and international.

My work is centered on the experiences of people who face political and social systems that failed them. My experience covers pre-production and production duties (research, pitching, budgeting, field-producing, interviewing sources, managing field crews) and coordinating with post-production teams (graphics, editing) for broadcast and digital delivery.

Some of the short films and news segments I have produced have been recognized with awards, including a News and Documentary Emmy for Outstanding Feature Story in Spanish; an Overseas Press Club of America for Best international TV reporting showing a concern for the human condition; a Peabody News award; and an Edward R. Murrow award in the Hard News category. I was also a 2022 finalist for the Livingston Award for Excellence in International Reporting.

In a not-so-distant past, I wrote how Trump never drained but kept drenching the swamp, Duterte’s deceitful toll of drug killings, and other stories in Spanish and English.
